Congratulations to Decatur High School scholar, Natalia for being awarded the $5,000 Hendu Scholarship from the Toys for Kids Foundation!

This scholarship honors the legacy of the late Dave "Hendu" Henderson, a beloved former Seattle Mariner and co-founder of Toys for Kids, by celebrating remarkable high school seniors who not only excel academically but also embody a spirit of leadership and dedication to their community. Natalia’s hard work, perseverance, and commitment to making a positive impact exemplifies these values, setting an inspiring example for her peers and our entire FWPS community.

Congratulations to Olympic View K-8 for receiving the prestigious Grand Prize Award of Excellence from Learning By Design Magazine for its building design by McGranahan Architects and construction by FORMA Construction! This award celebrates Olympic View’s commitment to fostering innovative and inclusive learning spaces where students thrive.

This national honor reflects the exceptional architectural and interior design that prioritize student well-being, collaborative spaces, and cutting-edge learning opportunities. Olympic View K-8, one of eight schools rebuilt under the last bond, is now a model for educational spaces across the country—thanks to the support of our Federal Way community, local voters, and dedicated project teams.
